Cairo Opera House Grounds

Along with Al Azhar park, the grassy plots and stone paths that surround the Japanese- built Cairo Opera House are a beautiful place to take a walk and momentarily forget the smoggy air. Even if you don’t go see a (probably mediocre) symphony or opera performance at the hall, you can get a taste of what it would have been like to be Egyptian royalty among big trees, statues of famous Egyptians, and soft music piped from hidden speakers.
